UsageSetseal
A has been designed to overcome the drawbacks of many commonly used
curing membranes which tend to provide a limited service life
following the curing period of new concrete. It has good abrasion
resistance and can be coated with certain coatings. Setseal A is mainly used
for newly cast concrete and cementitious surfaces to retain sufficient moisture
to ensure full hydration of the cement. Typical application areas include: High
rise construction to eliminate water curing. Runways
and roads. Roof
decks. Retaining
walls. Irrigation
canals. General
floor slab and columns. All
Cement based coloured plasters. Materials Supplied18 and 200 litres. StorageStore in a dry area out of direct sunlight between 5°C and 35°C. Shelf LifeAt least 12 months if stored in original containers Coverage8 - 10 m² per litre per coat depending on the absorbency of the base. Standard

Technical Information
The technical data are specified at 23 ° C. Application InstructionsSetseal A should be spray applied as soon as possible to the fresh concrete, provided that the surface water has evaporated. Do not apply if bleed water is forming, or is present on the concrete surface. Stir Setseal A well before use to ensure even pigment dispersion. Setseal A should be spray applied, the spray nozzle should be held approximately 450 mm from the concrete surface and passed back and forth to ensure complete coverage. Pump pressure should be maintained to give an even, fine spray.
The applied film should be protected from rain for at least 3 hours; care should be taken to ensure that the film is not broken.
In case of formed concrete, Setseal A should be applied immediately after de-shuttering. In such a case the concrete surface must be dampened with clean water prior application of Setseal A. OVERCOATING
Setseal
A can be over coated with the following: Polymer
modified cementitious paint. Acrylic
paints. Epoxy
resin coating that is not dependable on penetration for surface bond. Bituminous
emulsion paints. Setseal A minimum application temperature is 5°C. Setseal A can be applied on dry and old mineral substrates as a sealer and protective abrasion resistance coat. Doing this will result in deepening the substrate colour with semi gloss finish. Water based curing compounds are also available from DCP. CLEANING Tools and equipment can be cleaned with soaped water when wet. Dried Setseal A should be removed with DCP Solvent. HEALTH & SAFETY Setseal A should not come into contact with skin or eyes. In case of accidental splashes to the eyes, rinse with clean water and seek medical advise. Suitable protective gloves and goggles should be worn. Setseal A and DCP Solvent are flammable. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not use near a naked flame and do not smoke during use. Flash Point: Setseal
A: 40 °C. DCP
Solvent: 37 °C
