Description:

Proplast Silicate is a highly breathable ready to use, thin-layer decorative plaster for internal and external applications.

Usage


Proplast Silicate consists of a unique composition of silicate binder, mineral fillers, polymers and pigments that provides a superb quality decorative plaster that can be easily applied by trowel for finishing new construction as well as the restoration of cultural heritage building.
Proplast Silicate is available in wide range of attractive colors and textures that provide a uniform and stable decorative appearance on all concrete and cement based substrates.
Proplast Silicate creates a decorative textured finishing on building.
Proplast Silicate is a final layer of the External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) from DCP.

Materials Supplied

Proplast Silicate is available in 10 kg buckets and 25 kg pails.

Application Information

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Surfaces shall be sound, dry and clean from all contaminants. Lightly abrade the substrate using mesh 60 grade sand paper to remove laitence.

Note:

The application of this system is not suitable on gypsum based plaster, plastic and resin paints, varnish and oil-based paints, old water based paint and lime paint.

PRIMING
Prime the substrate using Grundix Silicate Primer by roller, soft brush or airless spray machine at rate of 5 m2 per ltr. For optimum bonding between the substrate and Proplast Silicate and to balance the pH between them, it is recommended to apply a layer of Proplast Universal Primer at a rate of 5 - 8 m2 per ltr using a short hair lamb wool roller or brush. Proplast Universal Primer also helps in the uniformity of the color of the final coat.

After priming, at least 24 hours are needed before applying Proplast Silicate.

APPLICATION
Before the application, Proplast Silicate shall be thoroughly stirred using a slow speed agitator. The material is applied with a stainless steel trowel. Different textures are obtained especially if a floating trowel is used where the working action can be done in circles, horizontally or vertically.

Product Grades and Textures

Proplast Silicate comes with two different systems which is related to the final desired finish.


T type: is the normal textured uniform system; where the largest grain size appears uniformally on the whole finish. The T type comes with different large grain sizes which reflects in the final thickness.
S type: is the scratch type finish, where a selected large grain particles will be spreaded in the finish and gives a randomly scratch effect on the finish. The size of these large grains effect on the thickness of the applied layer.
To overcoat Proplast Silicate use either Procoat Silicate or Procoat Silicone protective coatings as per recommendations of respective technical data sheets.
