UsageGripdeck Primecoat can also be used as a Body Coat on top of Gripdeck Flexcoat prior to blinding with the appropriate grade of aggregate and finishing with Gripdeck Wearcoats. For all external applications where Gripdeck Flexcoat is to be applied, Gripdeck Primecoat E should be used. Shelf Life12 months if unopened, undamaged, sealed containers and stored under good conditions. CoverageThe coverage obtained will vary depending on the texture of the surface to which the Gripdeck Primecoat is applied. As a guide, the coverage is approximately 1 kg / m² depending on the above and the requirements of the specification. |

* (do not apply if the ambient or floor temperature is to fall below 10°C during the first 24 hours) Application InstructionsSURFACE PREPARATION For details please see the DCP Guide to Surface Preparation. For new build applications or where the relative humidity of the floor exceeds 75% measured using a suitably calibrated hygrometer, Strongcoat DPM should be used, prior to applying Gripdeck Primecoat. MIXING Gripdeck Primecoat comprises three components, a Resin Base and Hardener which are supplied pre-weighed in the correct proportions along with a bag of filler for use where a greater depth is required. Under no circumstances should part mixing be carried out. Taking care to ensure that the bottom and sides are thoroughly drained, pour the contents of the hardener portion into the resin container. Using a power whisk attached to a slow speed electric drill, mix for approximately 2 minutes followed by scraping down and re-mixing for a further 1 minute avoiding the entraining of excessive air until a uniform consistency is obtained and allow to stand for 1 minute. If the filler portion is to be used, add the contents of the filler into the mixed material and mix for a further 1 minute. Important: Never mix Gripdeck Primecoat by hand as this could lead to areas of uncured material. APPLICATION Once mixing is complete, spread the Gripdeck Primecoat onto the floor using a squeegee and short / medium pile roller, ensuring it is worked well into the surface. Then blind with the appropriate grade of Gripdeck or Quartz Aggregate and allow to dry. OVERCOATING Gripdeck Wearcoat / Plus/ TG may be applied as soon as the blinded Gripdeck Primecoat becomes tack free. USE AS A BODY COAT Gripdeck Primecoat may also be used as a body coat on top of Gripdeck Flexcoat. When being used for this purpose, the resin and hardener parts should be mixed together and applied at a minimum rate of 1.0kg/m², this may then be blinded with Quartz or Gripdeck Aggregate prior to drying and application of the final wear surface. CLEANING Tools should be cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately after use. HEALTH & SAFETY Consult the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet before using Gripdeck Primecoat.
