WATER REPELLENT IMPREGNATION BASED ON SILANE/SILOXANE SOLVENT

Description:

Repelicone L is a ready for use, general purpose single  component solvent based silane/siloxane water repellent impregnation for application on vertical or steeply sloping concrete, mineral-based natural and artificial stone, cementitious substrates, mineral plasters and mineral paints.


Usage


Repelicone L provides excellent water repellency and protection from weathering to vertical or steeply sloping concrete, mineral-based and artificial stone, cementitious substrates and mineral paints.
Repelicone L can also be used for injection into walls to prevent rising damp.
Repelicone L can be used as moisture barrier and primer for exterior paints.

Materials Supplied

Repelicone L is available in  pails - 0.5 l, 5 l, 20 l and drums - 200 l.

Storage/ Shelf Life

Repelicone L should be stored under cover at a minimum ambient temperature of 5°C.
Repelicone L has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture if stored in proper conditions and sealed drums.

Remarks

Before applying Repelicone L be sure to cover non-  absorbent surfaces properly (windows, aluminum frames, etc.). Repelicone L cures fast and will be extremely difficult, to remove after a few hours.

Repelicone L should not be applied when rain is forecasted within 24 hours. Wait at least 24 hours after rain or water cleaning.

Be sure that impregnated surfaces by Repelicone L are not exposed to water and rain for at least 5 hours after application.

DO NOT USE DETERGENTS for cleaning impregnated surfaces by Repelicone W, washing occurs only by water.

Application Information

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Surface must be clean, sound and free from oil, grease, curing compound, or any contamination. Any contaminants should be removed by light grit blasting. Water jets is then used as the end step of substrate cleaning.   

Note:
Avoid the use of acidic or alkaline chemical detergents and cationic surfactants. If detergents are used for cleaning, it is necessary to rinse well the cleaned surface by water in order to remove any detergent residue.

APPLICATION

It is recommended to apply two consecutive coats of Repelicone L at the stated rate of application, or one flood coat.

Impregnation can be carried out using airless spray machine, brush, or roller.

The water repellent properties fully develop in approximately 72 hours @ 25 °C.

CLEANING

Tools and equipment can be cleaned with DCP-solvent when wet. Hardened materials must be cleaned mechanically.

FIRE
Repelicone L is flammable.
Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not use near a naked flame and do not smoke during use.
