The high deformability characteristics of Cemfix FLEX make it highly recommended for fixing large format tiles or heavy natural stone such as marble and granite on floors and walls, these characteristics make it also an excellent choice for fixing tiles over headed screed or for external applications like balconies and terraces where floors and walls are continuously exposed to temperature variations. Laying large format or heavy tiles and natural stone over concrete and cement base screed, mortar and plaster substrates. Laying all types of ceramic tiles and stone on all common construction substrates where slightly movements or deflections are likely. Highly recommended with underfloor heating systems. Superb in fixing tiles in external floors and walls exposed to sever environmental conditions. Recommended for bathrooms, kitchens and other wet areas. Can be used for tile over tile applications. Technical Information
Application InformationSUBSTRATE PREPARATION
PRIMING Cemfix FLEX can be applied directly on concrete, cement plaster, screed and cement or line mortar. When working on porous or high absorbent surfaces such as gypsum-based materials, apply with primer - Grundix DP or Grundix Contact Plus.
MIXING To ensure proper mixing, a
mechanically powered mixer or drill
fitted with suitable paddle should be used. Add the 6.8 litre water to a
clean container. The powder component is then added slowly to the water while mixing continuously with low speed mixer/drill (400 - 600 rpm). Mixing time should be continued for 3 minutes until a uniform consistency is obtained. APPLICATION Apply a thin layer of the
adhesive onto the substrate using the flat edge of the trowel. Comb
the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel horizontally to achieve a bed
thickness of 2 - 5 mm. It is
always better to work in a manageable area that can be tiled within the open
wet time of the adhesive. Leave the tiled surfaces
for 24 hours before grouting.
Place the tiles with firm
pressure to ensure proper contact with the adhesive. |
