Description:

Flexseal HT315 is an acid-curing, chemically stable silicone sealant for universal application at high temperatures up to 250°C. Flexseal HT315 cures at room temperature under the action of atmospheric moisture to give a permanently flexible silicone rubber.

Usage

Sealing of connecting and expansion joints exposed to high temperatures

Sealing of joints exposed to long-term temperatures of 250°C (oven and chimney construction)

Suitable for industrial applications

Storage

Flexseal HT315 has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacturing if stored in original unopened packages stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight

Limitations

Should not be used on substrates such as marble, concrete, fibrous cement and mortar, as the product releases acetic acid during vulcanization.
Should not be used in contact with metals such as lead, copper, brass or zinc due to corrosion.
May be discolored in contact with some organic elastomers, e.g. EPDM, APTK and neoprene.
Not recommended for use on natural stone, such as marble, granite, quartzite, as it can cause staining.
Not recommended for structural glazing bonding

Application instructions

Joint preparation

Joint surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from any contamination. Primers may be required on some substrates.
Where applicable a appropriate joint filler should be used to provide the correct joint depth. Use masking tape on each side of the joint in order to maintain a clean uniform finish.

Application

Flexseal HT315 is supplied in cartridges and can be applied into the joint using caulk gun.

Apply Flexseal HT315 into the joint starting from the bottom, ensure that the joint is completely filled. Tool the surface of the sealant within 15 minutes of the application using a spatula or suitable smoothing liquid. This will provide a smooth finish and will ensure good contact between the sealant and the substrate. Remove the masking tape directly after tooling the sealant.
